Today I admitted C was right and the world is a horrible stereotype-conforming place, which is really depressing. I like my world full of rainbows and gum-drop trees better. Which only makes C more right.
And she willing admitted that relationships were not one-size-fits-all, which was my entire point so she kind of admitted I was right too. And also that means she was wrong in year ten when she said Peeta couldn't be with Katniss because he was weaker than her. Which is the entire reason the argument started in year ten. Which means that is TWO recorded instances I have of her being wrong(the other was when she insisted that Heinz was pronounced Hi-enz in year three. Whenever she says she's always right, her family always bring up that one example to prove her wrong and it is the ONLY example they can collectively think of), whic was what I was trying to get when I restarted the argument this year.
So on the whole I'm rather happy, even if I will have to spend a while coming to terms with just how shitty the world is.

I love some of the people on AVEN.
They've quickly rationalised that a God who can do anything can't exist. If he could make a rock that he was incapable of lifting, then he is incapable of lifting the rock and therefore that is something he cannot do. If he can't create such a rock, then that's something he cannot do.

He also can't be all knowing and all powerful, either. Because then if he's all knowing, he is incapable of not knowing something. But then being all powerful he could easily make it possible for there to be something he doesn't know, but then he ceases to be all knowing.
It's the dort of problems you come across when you're all "Nuh-uh, my god is way cooler than your god!" And just decide he has ALL THE POWERS.
Seriously, it's as if the founders of Abrahamic religions had never heard of game balance or something.

Then again, I would argue that we are defining this hypothetical God by our own perception of the world. So clearly we cannot comprehend the existence of anything all-knowing or all-powerful. A bit like how ants couldn't comprehend this conversation. I don't imagine our kind of logic or way of looking at the world can possibly apply to the God in question because our brains just aren't designed to think like that.

The book is written by Brandon Sanderson, I'm not sure if he is Star's /favourite/ author, but I'm pretty sure he's up there.
I do like supernatural, though I've only seen 4 episodes. Lizzie and Cat, on the other hand, absolutely love it. Lizzie was meant to bring the season 1 DVD on Thursday when we went to York, but do to her 'badmin' (bad admin) she forgot:(

Yes. Brandon Sanderson is my favourite author. I have a bookcase for my favourite books and a bookcase for less book, and I have my Brandon Sanderson books on a special shelf higher than all my other books and right by my bed so I can both see and reach thwm from here. It's a fairly good indication of my favouritism. ;)
