Working Hard...

Well then.

As you  know, I've been writing. Writing, writing, writing. You don't get to do an awful lot of other things when you're writing. Well, sometimes you do, but not when you have deadlines like these. The short stories I'm writing, all of them, need to be delivered by Wednesday. The first draft of Book Nine needs to be delivered by the middle of next month.

To say I am a tad busy would be something of an understatement.

Of course, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, and why would Jack want to be a dull boy? I've been doing things. Reading things. Watching things.

Take this evening, for instance. This evening I watched the last Sherlock of the current season. The first episode of the season was oddly character-driven, at the expense of the central mystery, but I didn't mind that in the least. The second episode, the wedding episode, was hilariously sublime. And the final episode, having Sherlock face off against a truly unique villain... well. It was just wonderful stuff.

And I've been reading. Stephen King, mostly. Going over his early works. His classics. When I was a kid, I went straight from The Three Investigators and the Hardy Boys to Stephen King and these wonderfully violent and detailed Gold Eagle books like The Executioner and Able Team and Phoenix Force, books that gave you diagrams of the weapons they used at the back of the book. Basically, I graduated from kids books to horror and action. And after a few Stephen King books like Cujo (the first King book I can remember reading) I went on to James Herbert and Shaun Hutson — overtly violent and brilliantly horrific.

And now, after all this time, I'm going back to Stephen King, and loving it all.

Recommendations? Read The Stand. Then read It. Two MASSIVE books. You won't be sorry.

So these things have been my break from the writing. Christmas, for me, was mostly about the short stories. But there was one story...

It started off fine. Exactly as I planned. It would be a new kind of story, something I hadn't really tried before. It would probably end up as one of the longer stories of the collection, though, but not by much.

I thought.

I have just finished it. Half an hour ago, I finished it. At the moment, before edits, it is over 20,000 words long. That's twice as long as The End of the World. So you'll be reading through Armageddon-Outta-Here (haw!), and hopefully enjoying the stories, and then you'll get to this brand new novella, a good, solid chunky story, and I think this story alone will make the collection worth the money.

I think. I hope. Right now I'm far too tired to form a coherent opinion. All I know is, I've been working hard. And it's not over yet.

How to get a song out of your head in 3 easy steps:

1.Think of a song that is really boring and dull.
2.Sing that song in your head repetitively.
3.That good song will be replaced by the boring song and the borderng song won't stay in your head because it's boring.

Ta-Da!

I find it fascinating, though, our endless desire to KNOW. People are constantly asking, over and over, and like . . . idk, it's kind of a nice feeling. :)

If I had Twitter, I would be saying that there are good points and bad points to everyone, and that you can respect the good points, and that people aren't black and white and that even if they're bad, it doesn't mean they're not good, and just because you like people's good points doesn't mean you like their bad points (there will always be things you don't like about a person, even your favourite people, I think), and yeah.

I personally just think that people get easily offended and people like to act tough, something they're not, because the person whom they're talking to doesn't know them.

Sure, people might give death threats. But the majority of them are stupid ass people who, if they met the other person in real life, wouldn't actually pull out a gun, because that is MURDER.

Like
Jesus.
No teenager with no proper experience with killing someone would actually do so, on a whim.
I'm sorry.
But that's just stupid, and they shouldn't be taken seriously.

But about the overreacting thing. People on the Internet like to think they have order and control. And the moment that control is disrupted, they go bat shit crazy and then everyone goes crazy.

And everyone- EVERYONE- is feeding into this popwow and drama and threats and getting all hyped up about it, over the smallest thing.

It's a bit ridiculous how many people are actually feeding into it.
Jesus... It's just.. No

From her lab, Adra sits at one of her metal tables usually meant for experimenting, but is instead on her computer.
Color her jealous, but she was trying her best to find out who was the crow that drugged Trip.
Again, color her jealous if you may, but excuse you, when one has a child to grow and eventually raise, one doesn't really need some broad trying to take the father away.
In any case, if this mystery woman tried it again, and managed to win.
She didn't think that she could go through that again. Through it alone again, left again.

And so far, she had no luck.

She tapped her fingers rather impatiently, every moment making her more and more anxious, more and more angry.

Sipping some apple in a store-bought pouch, she got up, and drifts to the other room to retrieve some very particular things.

She put on her coat, the inside lined with an assortment of weapons. She huffed, and began to wait.

Back home, the bodies were slowly and steadily growing larger and larger as all of the deceased alchemists were accounted for. So far, there was around 500, the majority of which were novices and apprentices.

Unfortunately, however much the elder alchemists wished to revive those who had been lost, bringing people back from the dead was no simple matter to them, and should only be done in times of dire need.
Bringing 500 or more alchemists back from the dead was, well, dangerous.
Of the twelve council members, only Amon-Ra was deceased, on the account that his Philosopher's stone had been removed, seconds before his legs had been decimated. Of the second-level alchemists, Lysander, Marus, and a woman called Janie were dead.

Which left the 500 novices and tertiary alchemists- all of whom were nearly wiped out entirely.

In total, the number of surviving alchemists has been lowered to 50.

Erigone had sent this information to the other council members, which had dispersed after the attack to tend to the wounded at their respective Earthen, Lushkan, or Vayman homes.

Only few have remained to clear up the city, and the planet.

All of the bodies were burned, enemy or otherwise.
